Advancing Women Leadership through Advocacy

 

This workshop will offer tools for successful advocacy with particular emphasis on navigating the cultural issues that may become roadblock to success. Participants will also learn about successful grant writing techniques and how to access resources to fund our various programs. Lastly, this workshop will also focus on effective program management.

Impact of African Diaspora Women In The

Advancement of Democracy

 

At the UN Millennium summit in New York in 2000, world leaders adopted the goal of gender equality and seven others, known collectively as the Millennium Development Goals. Since then, the number of women in leadership positions has increased. This workshop will examine the impact of women involvement in policy making and participation in political decision- making.

 

We will also examine those countries in the Sub Saharan Africa like Rwanda , Cameroon , South Africa , Nigeria and Liberia that women are actively involved in the political process. This highly participatory forum will also provide guidelines on how to overcome cultural roadblocks, hidden pitfalls and financial challenges in order to fully participate in the political process.
